Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data NuWish collects, why, and how you can control it. NuWish is a wishlist and gift registry app: you paste product links, we turn them into cards, and the people you share your list with can claim items so gifts don't get duplicated.

Who we are

NuWish is operated as a small, independent project. You can reach us at hello@getnuwish.com for any question about this policy or your data.

What we collect

• Email address — when you sign up for launch updates on this site, or create an account in the app.
• Wishlist contents — the product URLs you paste, and the item details we retrieve from them (title, image, price).
• List sharing data — who a list is shared with and which items have been claimed, so duplicate gifts can be avoided.
• Basic technical data — standard server logs from our hosting provider (IP address, request time, user agent). We don't currently run a separate analytics tool.

How we fetch product links

When you paste a product URL, our server visits that page to read its publicly available metadata — the same title, image and price information that page shows to any visitor or search engine. We do not log in to your accounts on other stores, and we don't access anything behind a login on the retailer's site.

Affiliate links and commissions

NuWish participates in affiliate programs, currently including Skimlinks, Sovrn Commerce and the Amazon Associates Program. Some outbound links to retailers may be automatically converted into tracked affiliate links. If you buy something through one of these links, NuWish may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Where affiliate links appear on this site, we disclose it next to the link. As an Amazon Associate, NuWish earns from qualifying purchases.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers (data processors) to run NuWish:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Account and wishlist data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
• Vercel — hosts this website and our server-side functions.
• Skimlinks and Sovrn Commerce — affiliate networks that receive click and conversion data on outbound retailer links. They do not receive your wishlist contents or account details.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone beyond what's needed to run the service described above.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process your data on the following bases: your consent (when you sign up for updates), performance of a contract (providing the wishlist service you've asked for), and our legitimate interest in keeping NuWish secure and free of abuse.

How long we keep data

We keep account and wishlist data for as long as your account is active. Launch-notification emails are kept until we send that one email or you ask us to delete them, whichever is first.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your data, and to object to how we process it. To exercise any of these rights, including deleting your account and data, email hello@getnuwish.com from the address associated with your account. We'll confirm deletion within a reasonable time.

Children's data

NuWish is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if lower, to use NuWish. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
